Cards & Booklet

In The Words of Suiten, there are 27 pieces of practical wisdom for living rooted in nature and ecosystems, each called a “seed,” made into cards for everyday life and organizational development. During the process of generating these seeds, we referred to a method of knowledge description called pattern language, proposed by the architect Christopher Alexander.

Seeds carry titles such as “Listen to Your Somatic Voice,” “Reawaken Your Visceral Senses,” “Relations of Aida,” “Self-Insufficiency” and “Post-Human-Centered Design.” Each seed is composed of the following elements.

By bringing the structures beneath modern society into the foreground, each seed focuses on the challenges that may arise and the forces that generate them. It then offers a tip for facing or moving through that situation, with examples that let you imagine what may emerge. The booklet also introduces perspectives — the research and reasoning that support each seed — so that you can deepen the understanding behind the practice.

The cards introduce a summary version of each element, while the booklet presents a full version with relevant perspectives — allowing you to use them freely, whether in your personal life or in workshops for building teams and organizations.

The seeds of The Words of Suiten are not answers.

They are drawn out as in-between words — neither too abstract nor too concrete. It is up to each person to decide how to put them into practice.

Our hope is that like a meme — a unit of knowledge that forms culture by spreading from person to person — these seeds will grow within each reader, resonate with their living practices, and transform into concrete actions in different shapes and forms. That is why we call them seeds.
